Kava Kats is Kat Presnell’s student portfolio and a community-information project. It is not a shop, a treatment service, a medical provider, or the official Noble Kava website. It collects very little, and this page says plainly what that is.
What this site does not do
Most privacy policies are long because most sites do a lot. This one is short because this site does not.
- There are no comments. Commenting is switched off on every page.
- You cannot create an account. Public registration is disabled.
- There is no analytics or advertising tracking running on this site, and no tracking or advertising cookies are set. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording.
- Nothing is sold here, and no payment details are ever collected.
- Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. Ever.
What we collect
If you use the contact form
The contact form is the only place this site asks you for anything. It collects your name, your email address, what your message is about, the message itself, and whether you ticked the box saying we may reply to you.
Along with the message, the form software also records the technical details that came with your submission — including your IP address and browser information — which is used for spam filtering.
We use your email address to reply to you and for nothing else. Sending a message does not sign you up for anything, and you will not be added to a mailing list because you wrote in.
If you just read
Reading the site collects nothing about you beyond the ordinary server records our web host keeps — the kind of access logs every website produces, used to keep the site running and secure.
A word about sensitive messages
This site covers kava, kratom, and recovery, so some people write in about their own substance use, health, or sobriety. That takes trust, and it is treated that way.
Those messages go to Kat. Nothing you write is published, quoted, or shared as a story without asking you first and getting a clear yes — that is a separate conversation, not something a tick box buys. If you would rather not put something in writing at all, that is a completely reasonable choice.
This form is not confidential in the way a conversation with a doctor or counsellor is, and it is not monitored. Please do not use it in an emergency. If you need help now: Emergency 911 · 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline call or text 988 · Poison Help 1-800-222-1222 · SAMHSA National Helpline 1-800-662-HELP (4357) · findtreatment.gov.
Who else can see it
A message sent through this site passes through a small number of services in order to reach Kat and to keep spam out:
- Our web host stores the site and its database, including form submissions.
- A spam-filtering service (Akismet) checks submissions to block automated spam. Doing that means the submission is sent to that service to be checked.
- Brevo, an email delivery service, carries the notification email to Kat — so your message and email address pass through it in transit.
- Kat’s own email inbox receives the message. She is the person who reads it.
Beyond that, nobody. We do not pass your details to advertisers, data brokers, or Noble Kava.
Cookies
No tracking or advertising cookies are set on this site. The only cookies it can set are the ordinary WordPress ones that keep a logged-in editor signed in while they work on the site — which applies to Kat, not to visitors.
Links to other sites
This site links out to health agencies, research, and news reporting so you can check its claims yourself. Those sites have their own privacy policies and their own tracking, and we have no control over either. Following a link takes you out of our care and into theirs.
How long we keep it, and how to have it deleted
Form submissions are kept while they are still useful — to answer you, to follow up on a correction, or to keep track of a conversation that is still going. They are not kept indefinitely for their own sake.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it. Use the contact form and say so. You do not have to explain why.
Children
This site discusses psychoactive substances and is written for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this page
If the site starts doing something new — adding analytics, opening accounts, running a newsletter — this page gets updated before that happens, and the date at the top will change. If you think anything here is inaccurate, tell us and it will be corrected.
